Meet Your Guest Wine Rep: Chris Black

Austin native Chris Black brings deep wine knowledge and an easygoing style to the table. With years spent buying, selling, and teaching wine at the iconic Grape Vine Market, Chris has worked hands-on with boutique producers, collectors, and countless celebrations along the way.

Today, Chris represents small-production wines with Violette Wine Co. He loves sharing bottles that are expressive, approachable, and meant to be enjoyed. As a result, tastings feel relaxed, informative, and fun — never intimidating.

When he’s not pouring wines, Chris also hosts winery tours through the Texas Hill Country with Cellar Rat Wine Tours, sharing great bottles and local stories to some of the region’s most interesting producers.
